NCSA releases updates to UberFTP
released September 26, 2005
NCSA has recently released several updates to UberFTP, its popular interactive GridFTP-enabled FTP client first distributed in 2003. These updates include support for third-party striping, the ability to use regular expressions to specify file names, additional commands requested by users, and improved error handling and reporting.
See http://dims.ncsa.uiuc.edu/set/uberftp/ for details and to download UberFTP version 1.17. UberFTP is also available as part of the National Science Foundation Middleware Initiative (NMI) distribution.
UberFTP developer Jason Alt (jalt@ncsa.uiuc.edu) welcomes user input to help set priorities for future development activities.
UberFTP development is funded by the National Science Foundation through the TeraGrid Grid Integration Group (SCI-0503695) and NCSA CORE funding (SCI-0438712).
